Is flawless skin too much to ask? The recent Korean trend of "glass skin" and European trend of defining features resulted in a revival of bright and natural makeup. As we stare at our face every morning, we will wonder to ourselves if this is even possible. Let's face it; this is not possible within a day or two. With some tips and tricks up our sleeves, here is how you can overcome it!
Basic skincare hygiene is vital. Especially if you wearing makeup for long hours just like me, this is one step you can't skip. Upgrade your cleanser to a gel or milk cleanser for gentle cleansing. It helps to wash away take off all impurities accumulated through the day, without stimulating any irritations. Sunrays and pollution can also create havoc on our skin. I would always apply a couple of drops of antioxidant serum and a handful amount of sunscreen before stepping out of the house. Every part of your body, including your lips, needs sunscreen to become less prone to sensitivity and aging.
With harsh chemicals for the products we use, most of us end up with a combination skin type. A suitable skincare regime can be pretty confusing in this case! However, this dilemma can easily be fixed with one essential skincare tip- hydration. Each time you hydrate your skin is somewhat the same as drinking water; it supplies your skin ample amount of water and nutrients.
Besides that, you can always opt for skincare devices to boost the skin absorption and elasticity. Remember, increase moisture levels, minimise inflammation and protect our skin from UV rays at all times!
Exercise & Wellness
Like what they say, beauty comes from within. Our diet does determine the condition of our skin. As cliche as it can get, drink lots of water; water is one of the natural remedies for detoxing. Avoid consuming highly processed food, especially the sugary snacks. A crash diet will also result in dire straits to your mental and physical health. So, that is a big no-no!
Instead, opt for fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy sources of Omega-3. Start the day with a fresh avocado smoothie after the morning cardio or gym-sessions. By exercising, it also helps you to naturally detox, and it keeps you happy throughout the day. Everyone loves a post-workout glow!
No makeup can create a flawless look without a clean canvas. Now that you have gotten that settled out, it is time to for some priming. After skin prep, add a couple drops of face oil to your foundation for extra hydration and dew. If you are not a fan of face oil, switch it up to a hydrating serum instead. I personally am not a fan of face oil, thus, opting for options that are lighter and gel-like. Top it off with some contour and highlights to finish the sun-kissed glow. Violá!
