Louis Vuitton FW19: 80s in the Digital Age

A new collection that embraces individuality and nostalgia.

It all started with a beautiful set filled with pipes in contrasting colours and funky 80s pop music. Indeed, the Louis Vuitton show was presented with a mishmash of genre and generation references- filled with eccentricity, bold hues and experimental silhouettes.

For Fall 2019 collection, Nicholas Ghesquière focused on blending old-school and youthful elements of the past and present - a signature that he is known for.

Mixing up grandma-style with classic tweed, dresses and skirts were layered with plenty of ruffles and embellished with silver sequins bibs. The length of these ensembles is deliberately shortened to resemble party-girl dresses. Prairie-style blouses are exaggerated with iconic 80s voluminous sleeves, the tailored coats are designed with tacky floral prints.
