Sunscreen is one of the most important step that you cannot miss in your everyday skincare regime. Though, if you have been foregoing this daily protection, you might want to rethink that! A good sunscreen usually contains UVA and UVB protection that protects you against sunburns (think about the sunny weather in Singapore) and minimises the development of wrinkles and brown spots. Most importantly, helping to reduce the risk of skin cancer too.

Now, before slathering sunscreen vigorously on your face, is there a spot that you kind of miss when applying sunscreen? Yes, you guessed it - it's our lips! This missing step may seem trivial, which I personally am guilty of, can actually lead to a dangerous matter.

In fact, our lips are most prone to skin cancers. Because of its thin layer of skin, barrier function is less robust than other parts of our face. Thus, most lip treatment or lip balm would offer at least SPF 15, which is excellent and suitable for everyday use. It's also a great start for those with chapped and dry lips. If you do have an active lifestyle like me, mostly outdoor-bound; opt for a balm that contains at least SPF 30 and above.

Whether if it's SPF 15, 30 or 100, reapplication is always necessary. Personally, I have tested this routine out and was amazed at the improved condition of my lips. Thus, I have handpicked six different kinds of lip care that will do your lips some justice too!
