INVERSION: Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall '19
Instead of a runway, Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of Louis Vuitton, opts for a less conventional approach which uses Louis Vuitton’s Friends of the House to front the collection. All seventeen faces from award-winning actress to band ambassadors like Laura Harrier, Sophie Turner and Alicia Vikander embodies different looks while bringing fashion to life.
The Pre-Fall ’19 collection sets out to embrace every individual through the modern silhouette. Playing with the notion of architectural shapes, it highlights billowing cuts like an oversized Kimono sleeved coat. The collection’s core essence is in Autumn, bringing together a whole spectrum of colour.
Another key takeaway is the mishmash of rustic and romantic prints. Floral is the key print of the season as it presents itself in the form of pea-coats, bags, and of course, the fly dresses that Louis Vuitton is known for creating. Pants and pleated skirts with bucolic prints and tartan checks complement a contrast of genres that emphasizes the eclectically bold look.
When it comes to bags, my favourite is the Monogram Giant, which comes in classic bags like the Boîte Chapeau and the Cannes.
Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 19 is now available in all boutiques worldwide.
